Sometimes we forget about marketing to the youth members – those 12 & under… the market of our future. Instilling good saving habits by showing fun ways to save is key. The youngsters will be more excited about saving money if it is fun.
Try getting them more involved and recognizing your credit union name by creating a scavenger hunt of for them to have in their own home. Teaching about the importance of earning and saving thus educating them on responsibility and ownership for their money. Another alternative could be to send them their own personalized newsletter. At such a young age, it’s really fun to get mail addressed just to them. And don’t forget their birthdays! These are huge milestones in their lives, and will remember that you sent them a birthday greeting. Make it even more special by doing an annual birthday deposit into their credit union savings account!
By attracting younger members, you can lower the age demographic of your credit union while increasing the loyalty of their parents at the same time. Youth are the future so why not make them loyal members today?
