In this blog, we asked you a question- “What are your New Year’s resolutions for your Business?” Maybe you’ve had some time to chew on it a little bit, maybe not. Before we blink it’ll be 2016 and we hope you’re not still only thinking about that question. We can help you out with a few things we feel like you should aim for.
Set Goals
It’s almost a no brainer here, but keeping goals that you’ve made is a totally different thing than just making them. Having someone (ahem, PMD Group) to hold you accountable of these goals will help you achieve them. There’s no way to get around it if you have someone pushing you to reach your objectives through measurable results. Make these goals realistic, but not too easy. Break each one of your goals down into smaller increments to be able to determine if it’s working or not, how you might need to adjust throughout the year, and when you reach a goal, celebrate- in moderation of course!
Start a Blog
Okay, okay, not to beat the subject to death but this one is actually important! By creating a blog you are able to put new content on your website and push it out through various channels. When you’re putting fresh content on your site it boosts your SEO rankings, makes you a more credible source, and educates your clients on various products and services you offer. It’s really a win/win. Invest the time in creating your own content, although it may take time, you’ll be glad you did!
Get Social
Again, a subject you’re probably sick of hearing but it’ll be worth it if you decide to invest into it. Most people trust the opinions of their friends and family, aka word of mouth. All of this happens on social media- it’s the modern day water cooler. As a business, this is the perfect opportunity for you to jump on possible business opportunities or simply just socialize with your customers. The goal here is to build relationships and offer advice/suggestions. It’s also a great place for you to push your blogs out!
Learn Something New
This might be a little more focused on the individual person but you might be surprised at how it can change your business if you provide a little encouragement to your staff. Learning something new can help you gain a new perspective, open your eyes for a possible solution to a problem you’ve been facing, or even just force you to take a step back so you’ll be able to look at something with fresh eyes. If there is a topic or class that sounds particularly interesting to you, search online for courses near you, ask a friend who might be able to help you, or even educate yourself with information from the internet. You’d be surprised how much you can learn from blogs, YouTube videos, or Pinterest! The internet can be an incredibly informative resource.
Scrub Up
Your mailing lists, emailing lists, and data you’ve collected over time probably has bad addresses. Task your front line staff with verifying and collection accurate info about your members to make sure your message is reaching everyone it should be. You can also do file cleanups to remove duplicates and create a new master working list.
Just a few New Year’s Resolutions we think you might want to think about! We wish you all a fantastic New Year, and PMD is here if you need anything!
