An eBlast is an email that uses direct marketing strategies, designed to communicate with customers and drive sales. They really aren’t intended to be annoying and clog up inboxes. Their purpose is to keep in contact with past, present, and prospective members- but that’s if it’s done correctly. With a few essential elements, an eBlast can be helpful to help drive future sales and distinguish a positive and loyal member.
Subject Line
The subject line is the first thing your recipients will see when they open their mail box. An attention grabbing subject line can be the difference between someone opening your email or deleting it. One sure fire way to grab their attention is to tell them why this email will benefit them- such as a discount, one time opportunity, new product, etc. Keep it brief and avoid symbols or writing in all capital letters.
Call to Action
You need some kind of instruction or call to action to provoke an immediate response. Things like “call now” or “save money today.” Make it obvious and simple, also avoid image based calls to action, sometimes those can get confusing. Again, make your call to action simple, if your customer has to do too many things, it is likely they won’t participate.
Creative Content
Not to do content overkill here, but the content will either interest them or leave them disappointed, resulting in them leaving your email or deleting it. It should be exciting and enticing but all straight to the point. Steer clear of lengthy paragraphs and over worded information. Your eBlast should tell your audience what your eBlast is all about right up front, and include the benefits they can receive from your company. Avoid the “sell, sell, sell” type attitude here and maintain a consistent voice throughout your brand’s content.
Mobile Friendly
Let’s be real here, most of these emails are likely to be read on a smartphone or tablet. If your email is unappealing or difficult to click through, your memberss will end up deleting or skipping over it and then never go back to look again. Before you send it out, test out your eBlast on multiple different types of platforms to ensure it translates across all devices. We want your memberss to have a good experience when they receive an eBlast from you, not a headache.
When you pair with PMD Group for your e-mail marketing campaigns, your members will have nothing but sweet things to say about it. Speaking of sweets…. Here is a PMD Thanksgiving favorite sweet.
Pumpkin Cheesecake

For the Crust
- 1 1/4 cups graham-cracker crumbs (from 10 whole crackers)
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
For the Filling
- 4 packages (8 ounces each) bar cream cheese, very soft
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 cup canned pumpkin puree
- 2 tablespoons pumpkin-pie spice
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 4 large eggs, room temperature
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees, with rack in center. Assemble a 9-inch nonstick springform pan, with the raised side of the bottom part facing up.
- Make the crust: In a medium bowl, mix cracker crumbs, sugar, and butter until moistened; press firmly into bottom of pan. Bake until golden around edges, 10 to 12 minutes.
- Make the filling: With an electric mixer, beat cream cheese and sugar on low speed until smooth; mix in flour (do not overmix). Add pumpkin puree, pie spice, vanilla, and salt; mix just until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until each is incorporated before adding the next.
- Place springform pan on a rimmed baking sheet. Pour filling into springform, and gently smooth top. Transfer to oven; reduce oven heat to 300 degrees. Bake 45 minutes. Turn off oven; let cheesecake stay in oven 2 hours more (without opening).
- Remove from oven; cool completely. Cover with plastic wrap; refrigerate until firm, at least 4 hours. Unmold before serving.
